 New Zealand residents and citizens may apply for a student loan to cover these fees.

New Zealand citizens and ordinary residents may be eligible for the Government’s Fees Free Scheme.

New Zealand residents and citizens can also apply for living allowances and course-related costs of up to $1,000 to help with the cost of equipment.


Medical Clearance

PADI Medical (RSTC) completed and signed by a sanctioned Diving Doctor. If you intend to work in the dive industry in New Zealand, it is important to know that you will be required to have a Certificate of Competence as an Occupational Diver. You do not need this to study diving, but it is important that you inform the doctor completing your RSTC medical that this is your intention in the future.


You need to be 18 years old prior to the start of Divemaster (Diploma Term 2 and Leadership) and 16 Years of age for a The National Certificate in Diving Foundation Course

First Aid Instructor Qualification

Diploma only - A First Aid Instructor Certification is required prior to issuing your PADI Instructor Certification. If you require a First Aid Instructor Certification we can also provide a National Certificate in Medic First Aid Instruction course. This can be completed in the same year as your Diploma in Professional Scuba Instruction. You may be eligible for a partial scholarship for this course as well as a reduction (RPL) in the fees for your diploma as some of the required unit standards are in both courses. If you are eligible, the fees for both courses will be $16,672 for New Zealand citizens. For International students we can deliver a separate course to meet this requirement at an additional fee.
